Horizontal Directional Drilling
Efficient pipeline installation: innovations in subsurface construction.
HDD is a technique used to install pipelines, casings, and conduits without the need for traditional open cut excavations.
This method is preferred in situations where environmental concerns or construction limitations make open cut excavations impractical. HDD is frequently employed for installing power cables under rivers, highways, railroads, and other environmentally sensitive locations, as well as in areas where the terrain or site conditions are not suitable for conventional installation methods.
Geotherm has assisted in performing route thermal surveys to establish the thermal properties of soil along the HDD path, in developing thermal grouts to fill the anulus of the casing and/or conduits and thermal/mechanical testing of drilling muds.
